Good to know

Common questions, answered.

Planning for an on-farm visit should feel straightforward. Here is what clients most often want to know.

Appointments & care

Before we visit.

Still wondering about something? Call or include it in your visit request.

Are you accepting new clients?

Availability can change with geography and schedule. Send a visit request with your location and animals, and we will confirm whether we can welcome you to the practice.

Do I need to transport my animal?

No. Hoofwell is an ambulatory practice, which means care is provided at your farm, barn, or property. We may recommend referral or hospital care if an animal needs services that cannot safely be provided in the field.

What should I prepare before a visit?

Please have your animal safely contained in a clean, well-lit area with access to water and electricity when possible. Gather prior records, medication names, and a timeline of what you have noticed. We will share case-specific instructions when scheduling.

Can you see several animals in one appointment?

Often, yes. Tell us about every animal you would like examined when booking so we can reserve enough time and arrive prepared.

What if my animal has an urgent problem?

Call 508-319-1212 directly. Do not rely on the online form for an urgent concern because it is not monitored continuously. Availability is not guaranteed, and referral may be recommended.

Do you treat production herds?

Hoofwell is especially designed for companion-minded owners and small groups where individual care matters. Contact us with the size of your herd or flock and your goals so we can determine whether we are the right fit.

Does submitting the form guarantee an appointment?

No. We review your species, location, concern, and scheduling needs before confirming availability. A veterinarian-client-patient relationship is not established until the appropriate requirements have been met.

How will you contact me?

We may respond by phone or email. Text messages are sent only when you separately select the optional SMS consent box on the request form.

Still have a question?

We would be glad to hear about your animals.
